Top Korean actor Kim Myeong-min sustained a neck and shoulder injury at the "Yeongasi" open set in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do yesterday, 8 January.
The injury was sustained while Kim Myeong-min was filming of a scene where his character, drug salesman Jae Hyuk, was mobbed by some angry citizens who were demanding for medicine. In the scene, Jae Hyuk struggled with the aggressive and abusive crowd, and was eventually pinned down, with his face flat on the ground.
Even after Director Park Jeong-woo yelled "cut!" when the scene was completed, Kim Myeong-min couldn't move at all and remained on the cold ground for a few minutes. Thereafter, that particular scene was repeated a few times.
After the shot, the actor explained to Kim Myeong-min International, "The pain starts here, on the right side of my neck and it extends down to my shoulder. This area in between, close to my collarbone, is extremely painful".
He added, "I somehow anticipated that this would happen. So I have prepared the necessary medicine for such condition".
Kim Myeong-min continues to feel the pain and pressure in the area and has been filming since the break of dawn today. Filming in Changwon started yesterday, and will finish tomorrow. After that, the team will head to Busan.
